I’m way way overdue to congratulate Kobayashi on once again crushing the hopes and dreams of countless Americans at Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest again on July 4th. Joey Chesnut came close, and actually led the charge for a while in the middle, but in the end it was Japan uber alles once again. Will America ever regain the coveted Mustard Belt? Will Japan become the 51st state in recognition of its gustatory strength? Will anyone ever actually barf on camera?
Only time……will tell.
