I’ve been meaning to make a picture like this for a while, just so you all could see how much of a life I really have. Enjoy:

So Otakon 2004 has come and gone, and I must say it was a good one. In the past few years my interest in the anime has dwindled, but fan parodies have totally renewed my faith in humanity. Nescaflowne and Evangelion Re:Death Re:Dux were awesome, and the other still unfinished stuff still blew what “legit” stuff I saw out of the water. The strangest cartoon I saw the whole weekend was on Fox oddly enough. Winx was some completely nonsensical explosion of crap flash quality animation and a plot that was waaaaay out in left field. If you’re up for hitting your brain with a sledgehammer, watch it as often as possible.

However, the singular most intense thing I saw was Ebola Syndrome. The program for the con listed it as “Genre: Tasteless” and it certainly did not disappoint. A serial killer is infected with the Ebola virus, but apparently has the 1 in 10 million immune system that allows him to become a symptom-less carrier of the virus, and not die horribly (like everyone else). From literally the first 10 seconds of the movie it is completely out of control putting movies like Ichi The Killer completely to shame. Nonstop cannibalism and Ebola projection make for maybe the sickest movie ever. So go watch it.

I’ve decided what I’m going to do in Japan. I am developing a serious Gachapon addiction. So essentially I’ll be the guy from Shenmue, wandering around all day buying little toys out of a vending machine.

So in conclusion I’d have to say that more than the anime, the crazy people I went with this year really made the con for me (aww sappy LOLZ). I’d just like to tell everyone who went that they need to get down with the Original Magic Bullet or the ladder orgy, “NO THAT NEVER HAPPENED” and of course the one word that sums up the entire weekend…FART.
